Nylon washers will work fine, it is a low pressure system. Get some spares in case you deform it next time you change the oil.

Thanks to everyone for your help with information/illustration on the oil change washer. I did get the appropriate washer from auto parts. I was somewhat reluctant as they did not have aluminum, only nylon, but it seems to be doing the job just fine. Needless to say the oil is ultra-clean now since I did it twice, having lost the washer during the first go-around. Brenda
