RE: [Honda-C70] '81 seat cover

OK Jam : I have done it & it isn`t that hard but it does take patents . The old seat cover is held in place by metal tabs like teeth that are part of the seat pan. You need to CAREFULLY bend them up about 1/2 way or less . Pull the old cover off the tabs 1 or 2 at a time . If the foam is still good you can move on to the new cover that you wisely had lying in a sunny spot to get warm & flexible & get any wrinkles out. If the foam is rotted now is the time to fill in or replace it with new foam from an upholstery shop. Not the seat cushion from the couch someone dumped in the alley , it might have bed bugs & you don`t want your new seat to bite. Some people have used corn starch or powder to make the inside of the new vinyl easer to move around & adjust . I started at the back & worked to the front getting out all the wrinkles as I went just fitting not hooking . When it looked smooth & straight enough for me I hooked 2 tabs at the back by pulling the cover tight pushing the material against the tab with my thumb & finger & then 1 on each side back & forth toward the front . Stopping & turning it over to make sure every thing is still smooth & straight is a good idea but optional. When everything looks good to you start Carefully bending the tabs back down & bolt the seat back on the bike. Does that sound do able? Good Luck ! Baby Huey

Has anyone here replaced just the seat cover and if so was it much of a job? Mine needs replacing and I'm more than willing to try it but I'd like some advice as to how difficult it is and just what needs to be done to do a good job.
