Joey: The manual reads 178 + or - 7psi . Or 171 to 185 pounds per square inch. I had to go to 400% screen to read the tiny + over the - in the on line manual. The motor needs to be warm so that the rings are sealing against the cylinder walls , & the throttle needs to be wide open as well as the choke so it can suck in as much air as possible in the 3 to 5 spins of the electric starter according to the manual. My 81 checks out at 125 to 135 , not great but it runs well . Good Luck ! Baby Huey

178=7 psi. Can this be explained? I have no clue.Also the throttle was not opened at the time we checked the compression.It seemed to read 90-95 at the time.
