[Honda-C70] Re: Quick poll: replace tranny or put in Lifan 120cc?

Hi Tim,

Forgive the lateness in my reply. I was told that the transmission is bad because the bike is shifting out of gear and it's also difficult to shift into gear. that being said, it could be the drum shifter (as I understand it, although I haven't taken the bike apart to figure out just yet).

I understand what you're saying about keeping the engine stock, that having power issues when my girlfriend is on the back and I think I might have to put in the Chinese engine. I think I'll keep the old engine, just in case this one doesn't work out!

thanks again
Tom

I plan my routes so that I avoid roads with a speed limit over 45 mph. I would personally keep it stock unless you have no alternative lower speed routes to get where you need to go. I have thought several times about upgrading to the 120cc or 140cc Lifan but the practically flawless reliability and 100-110 mpg of my C70's little stock engine always wins out in the end.
