[Honda-C70] Chain guard

 

Hello all, this summer at Mid Ohio I purchased a 1981 C 70 Passport. The thing squeaks alot and it turns out the chainguard was rubbing the rear hub. I took it off and now it's fine. Should I cut the horizontal flange off the top and bottom guards, that's where the rubbing seems to be. Thanks.
