[Honda-C70] Re: Carb piston sticking

That did it--I looked closely and my tab was slightly twisted. I wound up using a pair of needle-nose pliers (actually the pliers from my Gerber Multitool) to push the slide against the tab and straighten it up. Tip of one jaw on the slot, the other jaw on the carb body and a gentle squeeze, now my slide is dropping in and out with just gravity.

Next question, when I get it back together, how do I set the screws on the side of the carb? There's one closest to the petcock with a stop preventing it from turning more than a partial turn, the other goes into the same area as the slide.

However I didn't realize that the projection that fits in the slot of the slide was relatively soft plastic, and I think I've scuffed it enough to cause the drag--and using a Sharpie marker to see where the drag is confirms that the drag is in the slot rather than along the diameter of the slide.

According to the diagrams I've seen the slot that goes all the way through the piston should mate up with a tab inside the carb. I can get it to line up, but with what seems to be excessive friction--it doesn't freely slide, and I doubt the spring has enough strength to hold it shut. What can I do to fix this?
