The alligator has some foreign competition at the top of the Everglades food chain, and the results of the struggle are horror-movie messy.
A 13-foot Burmese python recently burst after it apparently tried to swallow a live, six-foot alligator whole, authorities said.

I have often wondered why this hasn't happened sooner. Seriously, I saw a pic of a snake swallowing a small kangaroo (it think it was something like that) and I wondered what the maximum capacity was for those nasty things. I hate snakes like that!
Now I have something to gross my co-workers out with. Thanks!
